Look at your moving checklist. Do you have everything completed up until the appropriate week? If so, great. What’s not on the list, however, are some very important things to have on moving day. These are some of the moving day must haves.
Moving Day Essentials
Bubble wrap should be pretty high up on your list. It’s cheap and versatile, and it can protect your fragile art and electronics from breaking.
These fun little styrofoam worms are also a cheap and useful tool for your moving day. Just pour them into a box full of fragile items and these guys will soften any blow. They’ll definitely make it harder for damage to come to your things.
Now, to close the boxes or to generally keep things in shape, you need tape. You can get tape just about anywhere, even the dollar store. So, there is no reason for you not to have tape when you prepare for moving day.
First aid kit
Anything can happen—especially on moving day. That’s why it’s important to keep a first aid kit for when those bad things happen. You’re at risk for all kinds of injury while you’re packing up and moving. Better safe than sorry.
If you haven’t used plastic wrap for your move, now is the time to do so. It’s stretchy and useful, protecting most of your things more than you know. For example, you can wrap your dresser, so you don’t have to empty the drawers and carry them separately. You can wrap food items or delicate surfaces you want to protect.
You need something to write “FRAGILE” on your boxes, or whatever you want, really. Just don’t spend your next moving day without one. If you’re in a situation where you need to separate items by owner or family member, you can do it from the start, so you’re not scrambling to find whose stuff belongs to who later.
